ARadiator Drain Cockis a small valve fitted at the bottom of a radiator that allows you to drain water from your heating system. It's an essential component for maintenance and repair work.

Types of Radiator Drain Cocks

1. Standard Brass Drain Cock

  • Most common type
  • Features a simple quarter-turn mechanism

  • Typically includes a hose connection point

2. Self-Sealing Drain Cock

  • Contains an internal seal that prevents leaks
  • Automatically closes when disconnected
  • Provides extra security against accidental water release
  • Ideal for modern heating systems

3. Plastic Drain Cock

  • Lightweight and cost-effective alternative
  • Corrosion-resistant
  • Suitable for domestic use
  • Often used in newer radiator installations

Key Functions

Radiator drain cocks serve several important purposes:

  • Enable system drainage for maintenance
  • Allow bleeding of individual radiators
  • Facilitate system flushing to remove sludge
  • Help in adding inhibitors to the system

Note: Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper functionality and prevent leaks.
