With the PCM and valve disconnected and key on, measure the control wire for battery voltage — any reading confirms a short to power.
3.Verify circuit continuity
Measure end-to-end resistance of each circuit wire from the valve connector to the PCM terminal; more than about 1 ohm indicates a poor connection.
4.Test the solenoid
Confirm coil resistance is within spec so a failed valve is not returned to service after the wiring repair.
5.Scope the drive signal and confirm the fix
Back-probe the circuit running, confirm a clean duty-cycle waveform, then clear codes and road test.
