How do I know I need a Blend Door Actuator Replacement?
The Blend Door Actuator is responsible for changing the position of the Blend Door. The Blend door and blend door actuator are located inside the dash. The blend door and actuator are what allow you to get the air temperature you want from the vehicles climate system.
The Blend Door does this by directing air over the heater core or evaporator. The more air is directed over the heater core, the hotter the air entering the passenger compartment. Directing air away from the heater core results in cooler air. This air is either ambient (when the A/C is off) or cooled by the evaporator (when the A/C is on)
When these fail or begin to fail you will typically have:
- No ability to change/adjust air temperature
- Grinding, clicking or popping from under the dash when changing the temperature selector
How much will it cost?
The typical cost for the testing and blend door actuator replacement is between $130-$1440 for parts and labor. This price range is averaged across all passenger vehicles. The actual cost depends on your specific make, model and year. Depending on your specific vehicle, this cost may be lower or higher. This cost estimate is for the specific repair listed and doesn’t include additional, related items that may require repair.
What is included:
- Diagnosis of defective part
- Replacement of defective part
- Up to a lifetime warranty
