How do I know I need to change my transmission fluid?
A transmission is vital component of your vehicles drivetrain. It is responsible for controlling the direction of your vehicle (forward or reverse) as well as selecting the correct gear which allows your vehicle to drive at the speed you wish.
Over time the fluid inside the transmission breaks down. As it does, wear increases inside the transmission. This increased wear can cause components within the transmission to fail prematurely.
Changing your vehicles transmission fluid and filter helps maintain the life of your vehicles transmission.
Typically transmission fluid should be changed between 30,000 and 60,000 miles for most vehicles. This may be different depending on your driving and towing habits.
Referencing your manufactures scheduled maintenance is always recommended.
