Fuel Gauge Sender Replacement

The fuel gauge sender is designed to measure the amount of fuel in your tank and relay that information to your fuel gauge. Some vehicles use a separate fuel gauge sender, while others have it built into the fuel pump assembly. The fuel gauge sender does this via a float attached to a metal arm and a variable resistor. As the float change rises or falls with the fuel level, the resistance values of the variable resistor change. The reading from the resistor is relayed to your fuel gauge.
