Receiver Dryer Repair Procedures

A/C Receiver Dryer Replacement

Step 1:Recover all refrigerant from the A/C system using an approved recovery machine.

Step 2:Locate the receiver dryer (typically mounted near the condenser)

Step 3:Disconnect and remove the refrigerant lines connected to the receiver dryer

Step 4:Remove mounting brackets/bolts securing the receiver dryer

Step 5:Install new receiver dryer, ensuring proper orientation

Step 6:Replace all O-rings on refrigerant lines with new ones

Step 7:Reconnect refrigerant lines and mounting hardware

Step 8:Vacuum test the system for at least 30 minutes

Step 9:Recharge the system with the correct type and amount of refrigerant

Step 10:Test A/C system operation

Power Steering Receiver Dryer Replacement

Step 1:Drain power steering fluid from the system

Step 2:Locate the power steering receiver dryer (usually near the power steering pump)

Step 3:Remove pressure and return lines from the receiver dryer

Step 4:Remove mounting hardware securing the receiver dryer

Step 5:Install new receiver dryer in correct orientation

Step 6:Reconnect pressure and return lines

Step 7:Refill system with appropriate power steering fluid

Step 8:Bleed air from the power steering system

Step 9:Test steering operation and check for leaks

Air Brake Receiver Dryer Replacement

Step 1:Drain all air from the brake system

Step 2:Locate the air brake receiver dryer (typically mounted on frame rail)

Step 3:Disconnect air lines and electrical connections

Step 4:Remove mounting bolts securing the receiver dryer

Step 5:Install new receiver dryer

Step 6:Reconnect air lines and electrical connections

Step 7:Check all fittings for proper tightness

Step 8:Start engine and build air pressure

Step 9:Check for air leaks at all connections

Step 10:Test brake system operation
