- Increased vibration felt in the cabin, especially at idle
- Clunking or banging sounds when shifting gears
- Visible cracks or separation in the rubber mount
Service Schedule: Inspect every 60,000 miles or if symptoms occur. Replace as needed, typically between 60,000-100,000 miles depending on driving conditions.
Side Mount/Torque Mount
Signs of Failure:
- Excessive lateral movement of the transmission
- Vibration during cornering
- Metal-to-metal contact sounds
- Difficulty engaging gears
Service Schedule: Inspect during regular transmission service (every 30,000-60,000 miles). Replace when showing signs of wear or deterioration.
Rear Transmission Mount
Signs of Failure:
- Transmission dropping or sagging at the rear
- Excessive movement when shifting into reverse
- Vibration at highway speeds
- Rubber separation from metal brackets
Service Schedule: Inspect annually or every 30,000 miles. Replace when worn or every 5-7 years as preventative maintenance.
Cross Member Mount
Signs of Failure:
- Increased road noise and vibration
- Visible rust or damage to cross member
- Transmission misalignment
- Unusual drivetrain flex during acceleration
Service Schedule: Inspect during regular transmission service. Replace mount if showing signs of wear or every 60,000-80,000 miles in harsh conditions.
